After much soul-searching, I’m officially retiring my weekly movie soundtracks column, “Tunesday.” ActionAGoGo.com requires my attention elsewhere and it just seems like a better use of my time to regularly update the site with broader content.

However, that doesn’t mean I won’t be filling AAGG readers in on the latest movie music. I just love OSTs too much for that and I wouldn’t consider myself a good friend if I didn’t share my findings with you on occasion. Findings such as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 score by Hans Zimmer, Pharrell, Johnny Marr, and several others (the score actually credits Hans Zimmer and “The Magnificent Six”).

Understandably, film nerds may notice some similarities to Zimmer’s previous works. However, when the composer and and his six cohorts come together, certain tracks (“Electro’s Suite,” for instance) really tell a story, turning what could’ve been an uninspired superhero score into an entertaining electronic opera.

My favorites: Harry Osborne’s theme, “There He Is,” and the consistent love theme for Peter and Gwen.
