Last night Stephen Colbert interviewed Smaug, or as his friends call him, the “the last great fire drake of the third age”, from the Hobbit films.
This is full bore here. The special effects team from the movie worked on this and Benedict Cumberbatch is voicing the dragon. The conversation itself is also actually worth listening to with Smaug getting political and trashing other dragons from different franchises along the way.
Also, this goes down in my book as one of the best marketing moves for a movie in recent memory that doesn’t involve crippling studio embarrassment.
