People seem to have mixed feelings about the Sam Smith song chosen for the 24th James Bond film, Spectre. While I’ll openly admit that “Writing’s On The Wall” is fairly non-descript and very mopey, it at least isn’t as out of step as, say, Madonna’s “Die Another Day.” That said, whenever a questionable opening theme for a 007 film surface, I can’t help but wonder what the songs that didn’t make the cut were like. Well…

Personally, I instantly loved the rumored Lana Del Rey song. According to Del Rey however, the song “24” was never intended for the 24th Bond — a fact that is unfortunate to say the least. As for the Radiohead song (which actually was recorded for the film and just released on Radiohead’s official Soundcloud yesterday), it’s a bit too wrist-cutting for my taste.

Carry on.
