I have personally grown out of Jar Jar over the years, but I will say this, which Best points out in the interview: kids love Jar Jar. *I* loved Jar Jar when I first watched The Phantom Menace as a kid, and, for a while, he was my favorite Star Wars character. I won’t pretend the character isn’t annoying but he served his purpose and was the product of very well-intended experimentation in both performance and technology.
