Well this a surprise!
Edge of Tomorrow was a movie from 2014 starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt that everyone seemed to sleep on. Some people wrote it off as “just another Tom Cruise movie” and missed out. Fortunately the movie crawled up the box office and was a solid hit internationally. Now, according to Deadline, we are getting a round 2 with Doug Liman returning to direct.
It’s going to be interesting to see how they pull this off. The movie wasn’t exactly begging for the franchise treatment, but it’s interesting take on exoskeleton warfare was fun to watch and the action was intense.
The movie already has writers attached, specifically Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, who just worked on the film RACE. We are definitely going to keep our eyes on this one moving forward.
