Steve Rogers was once an Irish-American kid with poor health and hailed from an poorer Manhattan neighborhood. He became the very first super-soldier, when an experimental treatment of radiation and chemicals transformed his body into the peak of human physical perfection. Being literally all that he can be (short of superhuman), he became Captain America, the embodiment of all the ideals that the United States of America stands for. Because of this, people consider Cap to be the ultimate Boy Scout: Physically strong, mentally awake, and especially morally straight. Guess again.

Avengers-2-Age-of-Ultron-Captain-America-Chris-Evans-Interview

The good folks at Mr. Sunday’s Movies sought to disprove the last part by showing the Captain America of the Marvel Cinematic Universe killing in all of his appearance therein. Though he tries to be upright, he kills when he has to. If anyone’s the ultimate Boy Scout, it’s Superman, but that’s literally another universe. Totaling over 14,000 kills, the video uses parts from Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Marvel’s The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) up to the upcoming Captain America: Civil War (2016). It includes deaths that Cap is responsible for, both directly and indirectly. Him destroying robots also counts as death according to the creator of the video.
