Goodbye, Uwe!

For fans of truly awful cinema, legendary bad filmmaker Uwe Boll is retiring from motion pictures.  His latest film, Rampage: President Down, will be his last.

Here is what Boll told The Toronto Metro:

“The market is dead,” he adds, “you don’t make any money anymore on movies because the DVD and Blu Ray market worldwide has dropped 80 per cent in the last three years. That is the real reason; I just cannot afford to make movies. It’s a shame. I would be happy to make movies but it is just not financially profitable.”

Boll says he’s been self-financing his films for over a decade. “I never had people giving me money,” he says.

That’s right, Boll self-funded his movies, some of the worst ever made. He even challenged critics to box him when he didn’t like their scathing reviews.  Look up some of his films.  REALLY AWFUL.

That said, his aggressive stand toward cinema will be missed.  Here is the trailer for his final movie, with a music track that seems to be a sad “goodbye” to fans of truly bad films.

Enjoy!
