This is pretty interesting. I’m always curious about action films focused on urban warfare in the U.S. (DMZ, THE PURGE: ANARACHY, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK to name a few). In my opinion, it’s an under-utilized subgenre that is rich with possibilities. Based off the trailer, BUSHWICK seems to be ready to tackle the concept head on.
Then there is the added bonus of Aesop Rock’s soundtrack. A detail that I’m not prepared to properly dive into here, but expect something about that soon.
