Now, I’m not sure if this is legal, and it may get taken down any day or second, but…LIQUID TELEVISION — MTV’s cult classic animation program –has been archived and made available to the viewing public online!

For the non-Gen-Xers in the room, LIQUID TELEVISION was a program that took short works of some of the animation world’s most promising talents and spun them into a 30-minute adult-themed cartoon showcase. The series ran from 1989 to the mid-90s and was the platform that gave us creators such as Mike Judge (BEAVIS & BUTTHEAD, OFFICE SPACE) and Peter Chung (AEON FLUX, RUGRATS). The show also paved the way for other MTV experiments in animation such as DARIA and THE MAXX.LIQUID TELEVISION was a wonderfully weird ride. During my teens, I personally remember having the basement television locked on MTV 24 hours. Which, inevitably meant waking up in the middle of the night/early morning and experiencing LIQUID TV’s truly bizarre animation shorts from all over the world. It was like I stepped into someone else’s fever dream.
