The first film in Marvel’s Thor franchise came out six years ago. Natalie Portman played Jane Foster, the main female lead and love interest of the title character. The promotional posters for the film had one that included a close-up of Portman with the phrase “The Woman of Science” superimposed over it. But there was another promo poster which, when juxtaposed with Portman’s, blows hers completely out of the water. This one had a close-up of Jaimie Alexander, who played Lady Sif and appropriately had the phrase “The Goddess of War” superimposed over hers.

Jaimie Alexander’s career has exploded since then. She’s reprised her role as Lady Sif in Thor: The Dark World (2013), Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and even a children’s hospital. The Texas native is also the tattooed star of the hit TV series Blindspot. She’s one of what we at AAGG consider the most important actresses performing in action film and television mediums and there’s something about a beautiful woman firing a gun that makes it hard to look away from her. So, why else do I like Jaimie? Because of how comfortable she is in her own skin (nice and tattooed as it is). Jaimie Alexander, we are proud to have you as our honoree for this week’s Woman CRUSH! Wednesday! Please click the pictures for full resolution.
