I know, I did a double take on this too. But yes, it appears that the international market is catching crossover fever too. In this case they are fusing “The Ring” and “The Grudge” into one freaky frightfest. I’m familiar with these franchises thanks to the string of American remakes that were popular in the 2000’s.
Directed by Kōji Shiraishi, this is going to be the twelfth movie featuring these characters and is scheduled to hit theatres in Japan June, 18 2016. No idea when/if this is coming to American shores as of this writing … but this sure does look fun.
