Mad Max: Fury Road has converted a whole new generation (and brought back some old ones) to the gospel of Officer Max Rockatansky.
But what about the fans that never stopped watching? The keepers of the flame who have been watching their VHS copies, or perhaps DVDs, in the shadows?
Well it all wasn’t time spent by themselves in the living room, apparently. The Wastleland Weekend has been going on in some shape or form since 2004. It’s currently a 4 day festival out in the Mojave desert that allows you to live out all of your Mad Max fantasies. Crazy costumes, cars, and desert heat are all part of the festival.
Check out the gallery below from Mario Anzuoni to get a sample of the festivities. Not sure how he survived the weekend, but it looks like he had a lot of fun doing it!
