In our interconnected modern world where information cascades around us faster than light it’s easy to forget just how awesome space travel was back in the 1960’s and 70’s. Especially when taking into consideration the fact that the spacecraft used had computers that were less powerful than an iPhone for instance. Or simple calculator.
It’s amazing we were successful at all when you think about it. Along the way, the astronauts took photos to document their mission. They used good old fashioned film, and after 45 years Reddit user Jeremy Dreier took it upon himself to use some color correction techniques to sharpen these babies up. The result? Stunning images from the prime of the space race.
Enjoy, and keep dreaming.
