It’s been a long wait for fans of everyone’s favorite sorcerer supreme, but here it is. Benedict Cumberbatch dressed in full tilt boogie Dr. Strange regalia on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. Soak it in, folks.

ENTERTIANMENT WEEKLY DR STRANGE

WHOA! Just so cool.

The cover shoot was reportedly one of the first times Cumberbatch wore the entire outfit and used it to practice Dr. Strange’s many hand movements and gestures. Quote from EW:

“I’m still in the infancy of learning all that,” Cumberbatch tells EW. “It was like, okay, I’ve got to keep throwing these poses, these spells, these rune-casting things, everything he does physically. I’m thinking, there’s going to be a huge amount of speculation and intrigue over the positioning of that finger as opposed to it being there, or there. And I’m still working on that. We haven’t played any of those scenes yet. I felt really self-conscious. But, then, by the end, it was great. It’s like anything, you just have to experiment.”

Exciting! The movie also stars Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Mads Mikkelsen. That is truly a stellar cast and get’s me excited for the prospects of this movie.

In case you didn’t know Dr. Strange is a character with deep roots in Marvel comics that goes back to the early 60’s. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, the character is one of the few protecting earth from the terrors of the mystic realm. The stories were renewed for their craziness and wild psychedelic art.

The movie is currently filming and is set for a November 2016 release.
