A Muppet. There is nothing more evocative of childhood than lovingly crafted dolls brought to life with skill, care, and a witty personality.

And if you want to keep that image safe in your head go someplace else, cause The Happytime Murders wants to take that image, light it on fire, and leave them in a garbage can for the police to find later. The movie is directed by Brian Henson, son of the legendary muppets creator Jim Henson, and stars Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, and Joel McHale among others. The story focuses on a series of murders where the victims are (you guessed it) once famous muppets and McCarthy has to team up with a detective muppet to solve the crimes.

But don’t take it from me, just watch the trailer. This one really has to be seen to be believed.

The Happytime Murders will be in theatres August 17th 2018.
