Peter O’Toole, star of such classics as Lawrence Of Arabia (1962), The Lion In Winter (1968), and My Favorite Year (1982), has passed away at the age of 81 from long term illness.

O’Toole was a titan of his generation of actors from across the pond that gave legendary performances in epic films and went on equally legendary benders. Dashingly handsome, devilishly clever, and armed with acting talent that even age couldn’t tarnish he will be remembered for a long time to come.

Scott Foundas of Variety has an amazing write up of his life and career right here and I encourage anyone to give it a good read.

Also, if you haven’t seen Lawrence of Arabia, you should. And it should be on the biggest screen you can find. It’s amazing, and if you haven’t seen it you aren’t a real movie buff.

Cheers, Peter. You will be missed.
