The circle is now complete.

Ages ago, two of pop cultures most important titans of influence, Marvel Comics and Star Wars, had a love affair. From 1977 until 1986 Marvel carried the mantle of STAR WARS sequential art, keeping the faithful fed with fun lightsaber action. After that, Dark Horse Comics carried that mantle from 1991 until 2014, and if you ask me they did a pretty damn good job of it. Now the Disney-owned Marvel has the rights to Star Wars comics once again…and, boy, are they excited!
To celebrate their new ongoing (simply titled STAR WARS #1) Marvel is releasing not 1…not 7…but 35 variant covers! If you are unfamiliar with this particular comic book phenomena, a variant is a special or limited run of comic book covers that only (for example) 1 in 500 issues may have. This makes these covers very rare, and (theoretically) more valuable as time marches on.
So with 35 variant covers drawn by 35 various artists, what we have here is an “orgy of talent” to say the least.
What follows is a wide selection of these covers. Please enjoy. And if you can, try and make it to your local comic shop to buy yourself a piece of history. Honestly, comic events like this come around once in a generation. You don’t want to miss out.
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!
