Cinema has had a long, relatively consistent history of great psychological thrillers. Unlike other genres, most years yield at least one notable mind-bender, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats. 1995 was a uniquely good year for thrillers as it saw David Fincher release his first successful theatrical release and all-time classic “Seven”.

The guys over at CineFix have put together a little video breaking down the details of the intense and disturbing finale of “Seven”, starting with pre-production drama and going all the way through how the scene was shot and edited to create the impact that it has become infamous for.

Do yourself a favor and dive into the mechanics of darkness itself and take this tour through the mind of David Fincher.
