Scottish syntwave producer Garth Knight is clearly a fan of 1980s pop culture. Look at his name: It’s a play off of Garthe Knight, a villain from the 1980s television series Knight Rider. Going further, he recently crafted a layered synth track entitled “Legend of Unicron”, a reference in both sound and name to the chief antagonist of the animated The Transformers: The Movie (1986) and a tribute to the 1980s Transformers animated series. If the soundtrack for that movie is ever re-issued with bonus tracks, Mr. Knight’s tribute would fit right in. Have a listen below:
