Graphic artist Peter Stults has created some pretty amusing, if not downright awesome retro posters for contemporary movies.
While we’ve seen retro-styled posters before, what makes his work particularly interesting is that these represent reimagined, recontextualized versions of our favorite bits of cinematic pop-culture; “The Matrix” as a blaxploitation film, cult-hit “High Rise” as a 70’s-era mind bender starring Terence Stamp and Christopher Lee, “The Nice Guys” directed by Jean-Pierre Melville. It gives a small glimpse of what it might’ve been like had these modern films been conceived of decades ago, and its worth a look!
