There are good fan edits and bad fan edits. The bad ones quickly expose themselves as fanaticism mistaken for cleverness. The good ones, on the other hand, are commendable because they force you to kind of marvel at the amount of work and dedication that had to go into them.

Recently, Mars VFX provided YouTube with a fan edit of the 007 Spectre trailer. Impressively, they’ve effectively swapped out star Daniel Craig with the third actor to play James Bond, Roger Moore.

It’s an impressive bit of trickery, the kind of sleight of hand that separates the fans from the professionals.

Hats off to you Mars VFX. If we didn’t know better we’d have thought Moore was making a come back.
