2015 ended up being a banner year for cinema. Box office records were broken, some heroes came back from obscurity to conquer, and it was just a good damn year for movies in general. This shows up in the Oscar nominees for best visual effects this year. They run the gamut — from sci-fi blockbusters to intense western survival dramas. All were fun to watch and it will surely be a competitive year for the top spot. The below video illustrates just that. It rolls them all together into one big ball of visual effects awesome.
