The Macho Meter keeps on rising with my latest review of ROBOCOP, the late 80s masterpiece directed by Paul Verhoeven.
Easily one of the smartest action films ever made, RoboCop is 2 parts schlock and 1 part bitingly witty satire mixed evenly and garnished with ridiculous amounts of violence and gore.
It also happens to be one hell of a story, which I cover in the video below.
Sandwiched between Flesh + Blood and Total Recall, RoboCop was made at the height of Verhoeven’s career, right after he made the jump to American filmmaking and before he met Joe Esterhaz.
