The last we saw of Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer from Hell’s Kitchen who moonlights as the vigilante named Daredevil, he was inside of the crumbling Midland Circle building at the end of Marvel’s Defenders. Though he appeared to have been killed, the last few minutes of the season confirmed that he is still alive and in a convent under the care of nuns (in a clear homage to Daredevil‘s 1986 “Born Again” comic book arc penned by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli). Yesterday, the long-awaited season three trailer for Marvel’s Daredevil was released. As the first Marvel Netflix series, the show has always provided a much-needed view into the the darker urban elements of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, from the look of the season three trailer, the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is indeed back, but he ain’t seeking forgiveness. He’s returned to his season one costume and his hell-bent on punishing criminals in a manner that would make Frank Castle blush.

Marvel’s Daredevil stars Charlie Cox as the title character, with Vincent D’Onofrio returning as Wilson Fisk (aka the Kingpin). D’Onofrio appeared briefly in Season 2, but the new season indicates that they intend to complete the Daredevil/Kingpin arc established in season one. Deborah Ann Woll will reprise her role as Karen Page, as will Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson.

Marvel’s Daredevil season three will air in its entirety on Netflix on Friday, October 19th, 2019. Check out the trailer below!
