At this point, I think it’s safe to say that the Alien films have had more misses than swings. Alien and Aliens seem to remain universally praised, while Alien 3 continues to receive equal amounts of support and disdain within the fanbase. Prometheus is kind of mixed bag and the AVP movies have been largely forgotten by the general public.

So where can a lover of space-horror get consistent Xenomorph satisfaction from the 38-year-old franchise? From the comics, of course. And artist/writer James Stokoe seems to have his fingers on the pulse with his upcoming Aliens: Dead Orbit mini-series.

Synopsis and preview pages follow.

After a horrific accident strikes a space station, an engineering officer must use all available tools—a timer, utility kit, and his wits—to survive an attack from the deadliest creature known to man.

Orc Stain creator James Stokoe pens a thrilling and claustrophobic Aliens story: Dead Orbit!

Not to heap too much excitement on a title that isn’t out yet, but the look of this comic is reason enough to pick this up. Stokoe’s designs have a hint of Moebius to them, but also leans in on the design work of Alien architect H.R. Giger.

This is definitely one to check out when it hits comic shops on April 26, 2017.
