Back in the late 80s and early 90s, Chinese director John Woo was probably the greatest action director in the world. While stationed in Hong Kong he made movies like A Better Tomorrow 1 & 2 and The Killer. Those movies redefined action as we know it and got him a first class ticket to a (ultimately failed) career in America.

But before he left he made one last swan song to Hong Kong action cinema called Hard Boiled (1992). And what a tune it plays! One raucous cop and an agent in deep cover team up to take down a crime syndicate. After that, I don’t really know or care what the plot is.

What matters is that this movie is full of amazing cinematography, great characters, and action! It’s possibly the most action-packed film ever.

Anyway, check out the scene below. It’s from the opening of the movie and highlights some of the fantastic editing, choreography, and intensity this film provides.

Also, please be careful at the office because this seen contains…
